    Blue Harbor Senior Living, a premier operator in the Senior Living industry, currently has an exciting opening for an Accounts Payable Specialist at our home office in Portland, Oregon.

    • Accurately imports and audits batches for selected communities.   This includes verifying proper documentation and approvals before issuing checks.
    • Provides on-going support and direction to selected communities for the processing of payables through payables system.
    • Assigns vendor numbers to selected communities on a timely basis.
    • Processes a portion of FHC’s home office payables, selected start-up communities, selected expense reports and petty cash, security and rent refunds, invoices and check requests in order to prepare weekly check runs on schedule. This includes accurately coding invoices and verifying proper approval has been obtained.
    • Inputs selected community manual checks into payables system.
    • Communicates with selected vendors concerning past due invoices, questions on checks received or other issues concerning their accounts.
    • Reconciles selected monthly statements received from vendors.
    • Maintains and improves customer service through communication and prompt response to community employees’ questions and problems regarding payables issues.
    • Distribute / maintain community KPI / Reports in a timely manner.
    • Training new community employees.


    Education and/or experience requirements include the following: 

    • 1-2 years high volume AP experience
    • AA in accounting a plus
    • GAAP and SOX knowledge a plus
    • 10-key by touch
    • Strong computer experience, including Excel, Word and Outlook
    • Detail oriented and accurate
    • Great customer service
    • Must be able to work independently and within team environment
